Clergy Application For Membership

There are three categories of membership in the LMS-USA for pastors. Upon favorable reception of the initial application by the Committee for Clergy Roster Membership an applicant may choose to become a Provisional member or an Associate member of the LMS-USA and is granted all the rights and privileges of membership with the exception of the right to vote in LMS Steering Committee and Ministerium gatherings.

Associate members and Provisional members are permitted to sit in on the meetings of the Ministerium and LMS Steering Committee and may be granted the privilege of voice.

After one year and opportunity to reflect upon the LMS-USA subscriptional position documents and to discuss these with Clergy Roster Committee members the applicant may then make further application to become a full subscriptional member of the LMS-USA. An applicant applies for Subscriptional Membership upon deciding that he can affirm without reservation the Subscriptional documents of LMS-USA. Upon approval by the LMS Steering Committee the applicant is invited to formally subscribe the LMS-USA Foundational documents.

And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

And how can they preach unless they are sent?

Once you've submitted your application, you will be contacted to submit an essay, on the subject of your personal concept of Faith and Ministry which will serve as a basis of your interview with our Clergy Committee. This should include your own sense of urgency of Call to the ministry of Word and Sacrament in at least four to five pages.
